Language Experts has developed the first specialised course in Medical Terminology specific for Interpreters and Translators in Australia. The Medical Terminology Course for Interpreters and translators is a one day course which includes 4 hours of face-to-face sessions and approximately 2 hours of self study and online work. The Course aims to provide participants with an overview of how the Australian health systems operate and interact and in this context examine the terminology specific to those settings.

This contextual knowledge provides interpreters and translators with the ability to analyse information in order to decode it from one language to another. Emphasis will be given to those areas of healthcare where interpreters/translators are most needed. Language and vocabulary development will feature in addition to the development of personal glossaries.

The participants will benefit from an awareness and understanding of the challenges of interpreting and translation in a health and medical setting; the use of skills and tools required to perform in a professional manner and the development of vocabulary and their own language glossaries.

completion of the program for a small fee of $50.00.

This course attracts 40 professional development points towards Revalidation and 20 professional development points under 1.4 for Recertification.
